Prepare for a promising career in healthcare
CareerWork$ Medical trains and connects young adults interested in non-clinical positions in healthcare to employers who need their skills. Participants find a pathway to fulfilling, lasting careers in a fast-growing field and enjoy stable incomes and benefits.
We partner with local workforce development organizations to run the trainings, and engage hospitals and other healthcare partners, to match great hires with great jobs.
What to expect
Our free, eight-week training program provides the skills needed for any entry-level, non-clinical position with career potential. Positions include customer service representative, patient service coordinator, family support specialist, and medical insurance biller.
Classes are typically three days per week. Times and days may vary by location.
Getting hired for a lasting career
In our training, participants learn hard skills for on-the-job success in non-clinical positions in healthcare, and the soft skills needed to succeed as a professional anywhere. They learn how to create a positive impression, build relationships with clients and co-workers, and problem-solve. They practice speaking confidently in front of a group, interviewing successfully, and giving and receiving constructive feedback. Participants are also guided to identify and apply transferable customer-facing skills from past employment to future careers.
After eight weeks of intensive training, we celebrate the hard work and dedication of participants during a combined graduation ceremony and personalized job fair. Participants interview for open positions with industry partners, and receive far more personal attention than they might during a standard job fair or online application process.
Participants must be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or GED, have English proficiency, and are able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Standard background checks and other restrictions may apply.
